By.Artisans Jacaranda Gin collaboration

CONCEPTPRINT

Work completed in house at The University of Queensland (UQ)

+ Concept development
+ Label and swing-tag design

This collaboration between local distillery BY.ARTISANS and UQ required a sophisticated visual identity for a limited-edition Jacaranda Gin, specifically designed to resonate with UQ Alumni.

The creative process began with watercolour painting, where I explored the organic forms of the jacaranda flower. I then translated these paintings and subsequent drawings into a digital, abstract design where the liquid flow of the design mirrors the movement and nature of the gin. The final design utilises a minimalist aesthetic – in line with the BY.ARTISANS brand – and strategic negative space to highlight the gin’s vibrant purple colour. This harmony between hand-made elements and modern branding allows the product to stand out from traditional spirit labels.
