National Rural Volunteering Roadmap

VISUAL IDENTITY

BriefThis Studio project required a logo with supporting typefaces and a colour palette. The client informed that the outcome should be approachable for the volunteers, there should feel friendly rather than too corporate.

Concept
This concept underwent a significant development from ideation to completion. My initial concept was heavily focused on the idea of “pathways” and how connection plays a large part in volunteering. This led to the final outcome, which maintained the same shape, however resulted in more than one meaning.

Rationale
The final concept incorporates abstract imagery that reads “NR” (top) and “VR” (bottom). The N and the V are designed to perfectly connect, symbolising hands, while the two Rs symbolise people and community. The colours were selected to provide a sense of hope and community, while the blues were selected to link back to the corporate nature of the organisation. Together, they are friendly and inviting—not too corporate, yet still maintains a level of professionalism.

I acknowledge the Turrbal people as the Traditional Owners of the land in which I live, work and create, and extend this respect to all First Nations peoples––including Elders past and present.
